Love this Quote! Canvas!!

This canvas was quite a work in progress.  A little here a little more there but never quite finished & I was not sure what direction it was going to take.  Then I saw a quote & new exactly where it needed to go.  I have placed birds in flight upwards to show the spirit/soul flying up & up not to be extinguished.  I think it turned out quite nicely if I do say so myself :) Thanks for looking!!  ~Seek Balance!

Pan Pastels-Hearts

This is a project from Donna Downey's class at Spark that I had not had a chance to finish up, that is until today :)  It was a great class with her & I learned SO much more about Pan Pastels.  I was apprehensive since I had tried at home & did not like what I had done.  But she really understands this medium and give you lots of great tips on its use.  Thanks!! I REALLY like how "on fire" the background feels.  Just like LoVe can!!

Watercolors!!!

I was  so inspired by Donna Downey's Inspiration Wednesday video this week!  What really intrigued me was the product she used to turn ordinary paper into a surface that would take watercolors -- Golden Absorbent Ground.  Then I went on the hunt for it. Found it. My Mom has long called poppies "such happy little flowers" and Donna used them in her video I thought, let me give this a try - but on canvas! I was leery at first because I didnt want to make a mistake but then I remembered in art, there are no mistakes! And I WENT FOR IT!  I love how it turned out.  I had this GREAT frame that I picked up on clearance for $1!(yes $1!!) and my happy lil flowers look so pretty it in! Cannot wait to try another canvas! This GOLDEN product is AWESOME!

She Art - Angel Done!

I was able to do some crafting today & it was AWESOME to get into my cave for a lil bit. I finished the details on the She Art Angel (my 1st angel) I made at Spark class taught by a fav of mine, Christy Tomlinson!! I really liked using the bright colors-which I do not use much-and I like the final product! Plus, my 1st time using a 6x12 deep canvas.  Likey!  Oh, by the way, used Sharpie Retractable I posted about & they were LOVELY to work with!! ~Seek Balance!

Shirt I Made! - Reverse Applique

I am in LUV with this shirt!! I learned the technique at Spark in Amy Tangerine's class! It was such FuN! I am going to make shirts for Christmas gifts & maybe who knows what else.  It is a great fall craft to do & the possibilities are endless as to what you can use this technique on!

New Fav Pen!!

For my gal Dana - this one's for you! ;)
When I was at Spark in Christy Tomlinson's class a lady commented the Sharpie Retractable pen works just as well on canvas covered in Mod Podge as the Pilot Permaball(which is now discontinued).  I was surprised since I had tried a fine point Sharpie & it would not write on the canvas.  It seemed to dry out.
So I bought a 2pk & gave it a go......WOW!! To my surprise it works BEAUTIFULLY!!!  :) OHH!! This is going to be a new FAV! You can see on the canvas where I outlined the wings - that is the Sharpie Retractable. Just make sure it is the retractable pen.  The traditional do not work.  Need to work on this canvas more so pics to come soon.

As promised...Spark No.3 pics!! I finally uploaded them! This was such a great inspiring event where women can motivate and encourage each other.  Truly a Sistahood! I know I made some Spark Sisters :)

So the new phone book arrived this weekend. As I went to the throw the old one away, I stopped to think "what can I do with this".  Since I like to re-purpose when I can.  Well, I looked at the pages and thought what need background pages they would make!! Do not throw your old phone books away, recycle it and/or take some of the pages out to use in your craft projects.  They make neat ephemera additions -- especially if you can put in your own info, relatives, friends, fav places of business, etc...

Back from Spark No.3 in Utah - my 1st time & it was SO much FuN! LoVeD learning new techniques! It will help to broaden my creative scope! Met & made some wonderful friendships with truly CreaTivE ladies!  It was just what hercreativesoul needed!  Great teachers! & lots of excited Spark filled souls ready to absorb all we could! It was AmAZinG!
From there I went on to Estes Park, CO.  And it was BeaUtiFuL as always! My snow order was delivered just as asked!  We almost were snowed in on the day we wanted to leave but we left later in the afternoon and then the drive home began ! It was fun to take a road trip with my Mom and Aunt! They were so high on mountain air when I got there -- it was a blast to see them giggle & laugh til their stomachs hurt! Good times!! Plus, I was able to spend time with my Aunt & Uncle - Aunt at a Zumba class (she is in her 70's by the way!) & a rock climb with my uncle (he too is in his 70s!) Great times! So glad both of these visits all worked out so well!
Now if I could just get my house cleaned up, go grocery shopping, at least the clothes are washed & get ready to start a new week! Pics to come soon folks!

Here are a couple more things I have been working on.  The zebra print & GlitTeR is always FuN!!  The pins (yes, the white feathery flower is actually made into a pin) the glass frames were my 1st attempt doing and I have to say I really like them.  May have to use in other projects.
Thanks for looking.
